Sano's diagnosis came just a month prior to her passing, and even during her battle with the disease, she was actively engaged in planning a new manga. The editors of Harta magazine paid tribute by sharing an excerpt from her last letter, which reflects her positive outlook: "This ended up being a fun life. I am now going to a more free world. Goodbye."
Nami Sano's impact on the manga world began with her debut series, "Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto," which she launched in Harta in 2011. The series ran until December 2015 and was published in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. An anime adaptation premiered in April 2016.

In addition to her debut, Sano created "Migi & Dali," launched in Harta in July 2017 and concluded in November 2021. The seventh and final volume was released in December 2021, and a television anime inspired by the manga is scheduled to premiere this coming October.
The swift and tragic loss of Nami Sano has undoubtedly left a void in the manga community, but her creative legacy will continue to be celebrated through her inspiring works.
