Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Delayed to 2025
The highly anticipated successor to the Nintendo Switch, commonly referred to as the "Switch 2," is now reportedly set to launch in the first quarter of 2025, according to multiple sources.
Initially expected to hit the market in fall 2024, the new release window aligns with the original Switch's launch in March 2017. Sources speaking to VGC and corroborated by a Brazilian journalist and Eurogamer suggest that Nintendo is informing publishers of the revised timeline.
The delay is believed to provide developers with additional time to polish launch titles, potentially including the long-awaited 'Metroid Prime 4.' As the follow-up to Nintendo's best-selling console, the Switch 2 faces high expectations upon its eventual release.
