Blasphemous is a Metroidvania-style action game developed by the Spanish studio The Game Kitchen and published by Team17. It was released in 2019 for various platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The game is set in a dark and twisted world inspired by Spanish folklore and Catholicism, where players control a mysterious protagonist known as the Penitent One who is on a quest to stop a curse known as the Miracle. The game received critical acclaim for its unique setting, intense combat, and challenging gameplay, and has since gained a dedicated fan base.
