With a USD 3.7 billion deal, which was announced on January 31 and officially closed by July 15, Bungie Studio will now be acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) and become one of Sony’s many subsidiaries. As the terms are applied, Bungie will largely remain its creative independence. This means Bungie’s previous management team and executive board will remain as usual, including Pete Parsons continuing to represent as CEO.
According to Parsons’ tweet, he’s calling this acquisition a “big, bold step forward”, which meets the company’s vision of improvement and excellence.
This unprecedented partnership with @PlayStation is a big, bold step forward. I could not be more excited for the next phase of our adventure.

Meanwhile, Bungie’s current project, Destiny 2, will continue to be available on platforms other than PlayStation, according to a previous tweet from the official Bungie account on Twitter.
