Steam's Lunar New Year Sale is Back
Valve has reintroduced the Lunar New Year Sale on Steam, a surprising move after the company transitioned to a Spring Sale format in 2022. This decision marks a significant reversal, with the 2024 Lunar New Year Sale now live, aimed at enriching gamers' collections further.
The sale, primarily focusing on titles from Chinese studios, offers a variety of discounted games. Highlights include 'My Time at Portia' at 80% off, 'Mr. Pumpkin Adventure,' and 'Opus: Echo of Starsong Full Bloom Edition,' among others. Additionally, participants can collect daily rewards, such as a unique baby dragon sticker.

This resurgence could be attributed to Steam's growing popularity in China, where Simplified Chinese has become one of the dominant languages on the platform. China now represents a significant portion of Steam's global traffic, accounting for 28%, indicating the vast market share and user engagement within the country.
The Lunar New Year Sale runs until February 15, followed closely by the Steam Spring Sale on March 14, continuing Valve's tradition of seasonal discounts.
