Deep Rock Galactic Hits Impressive 8 Million Sales Milestone
Ghost Ship Games' Deep Rock Galactic has achieved a remarkable sales milestone, surpassing eight million units across all platforms. This significant achievement comes as part of the 2023 Year in Review for the co-op FPS/mining game, which originally debuted on PC and Xbox One in 2020 and later expanded to PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022.
The game's sales have shown a consistent upward trajectory, with a remarkable 2,567,251 units sold in 2023 alone, up from over 5.5 million the previous year. Players are deeply engaged with the title, as evidenced by the average Steam player dedicating over 46 hours to the game, and a noteworthy 800,715 players surpassing the 100-hour mark.
Daily and monthly active users reached new heights, with 150,300 daily active users (up from 113,700 in 2022) and 1,018,230 monthly active users. In-game data revealed that fall damage is the leading cause of player deaths, followed by the Glyphid Grunt and incidents of friendly fire.
In addition to Deep Rock Galactic's success, Ghost Ship Games is expanding the franchise with two new titles: Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, a survival game, and Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, a roguelite co-op shooter. The former is set to enter early access in Q1 2024, with the latter's release date still pending.
