Apple ArcadeSees Price Increase
Apple has revealed an increase in prices for several of its subscription services, marking the second consecutive year the tech giant has adjusted its rates. Apple Arcade, the company's gaming subscription likened to Game Pass, is among those affected by the latest change.
The monthly fee for Apple Arcade will now be 7 USD, up from its previous 5 USD. Additionally, the Premier tier of Apple One, a package that encompasses Arcade among other services, will now be priced at 37.95 USD monthly, up from its prior 32 USD.
Notably, Apple Arcade was spared from last year's price adjustments, though the standard Apple One package had seen an increase.
An Apple spokesperson communicated the rationale behind the hike to CNBC. For those contemplating a new subscription, the updated prices will be effective immediately. However, for current subscribers, the new rate will reflect only from their subsequent renewal period.
A brief breakdown of the updated pricing:
- Apple TV+: Now priced at 10 USD monthly and 99 USD annually.
- Apple Arcade: Adjusted to 7 USD monthly.
- Apple News+: Updated to 13 USD monthly.
- Apple One Individual, Family, and Premier packages have risen to 20 USD, 26 USD, and 38 USD monthly, respectively.
Apple continues to evolve its services in an ever-competitive market, with these new prices reflecting the current state of the industry.
