On October 11, 2023, Chinese gaming company Angela Game, along with Imperial Interactive Entertainment, announced they had reached a settlement agreement with U.S.-based Snail Games USA and its subsidiary Studio Wildcard. The agreement effectively resolves the copyright and trade secret litigation concerning their game "Myth of Empires." While the details of the settlement remain confidential, both parties announced that Angela Game will collaborate with Snail Games USA for the game's distribution.

Doug Kennedy, co-founder of Studio Wildcard:

We're delighted to announce this settlement and pave the way for the re-release of 'Myth of Empires,' benefiting both parties. Through our partnership with Angela Game, we've also opened up additional revenue streams.

As part of the settlement, Snail Games USA will withdraw its DMCA notice against "Myth of Empires." Angela Game plans to collaborate with PC distribution platforms to relaunch the game in early 2024. Furthermore, a global release on PlayStation and Microsoft platforms is expected within 2024. Angela Game will also continue to develop new DLCs and expansion packs for the product. Snail Games USA will support the worldwide distribution of "Myth of Empires" and assist in public relations, marketing, and first-party support activities.

The agreement marks a significant step in resolving legal issues and sets the stage for "Myth of Empires" to regain its momentum in the gaming market. Both companies stand to benefit from the partnership, given the game's previous popularity and the new potential for expanded reach and additional revenue.
