Tencent Expands Global Gaming Footprint with Acquisition of Inflexion Games
Chinese tech giant Tencent continues its international buying spree, announcing on February 23rd the acquisition of Inflexion Games from Improbable. Based in Edmonton, Canada, Inflexion Games will continue to be led by its CEO Aaryn Flynn post-acquisition.
Inflexion Games is currently developing "Nightingale," set to launch in a "first-look" format on PC later this year. Tencent is likely to distribute the game through its overseas brand, Level Infinite. This brand was officially announced by Tencent Games on December 8th last year and aims to distribute titles from Tencent's studios as well as other third-party studios. It also offers a range of support and services for overseas partner studios as part of its international business strategy.
