Capcom has revealed plans to launch the Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil Village on the iPhone 15 Pro later this year. The games will run natively on the device, thanks to Apple's new A17 Pro chip unveiled at today's Apple Event. This 3-nanometer chip boasts significant upgrades, including the biggest GPU redesign in Apple’s history, 10% faster CPU performance, and a Neural Engine that's twice as fast as before.

The A17 Pro chip's capabilities don't stop there. Its pro-class GPU is 20% faster, features hardware-accelerated ray tracing that's four times quicker than software-based versions, and promises immersive AR and gaming experiences. With these specs, the iPhone 15 Pro aims to bring console-level games to the mobile platform for the first time.
Capcom's official press release added more details. Both Resident Evil titles will offer graphics that rival current consoles and include HDR support for added realism. They will also fully support Apple's Metal technology, ensuring high-quality versions that leverage Apple silicon features like MetalFX Upscaling.
