At Apple's 2023 Fall Event on September 13, the iPhone 15 Pro took the stage with a particular focus on gaming performance. Highlighted during the event were games from HoYoverse's "Genshin Impact" and "Honkai: Star Rail."

The iPhone 15 series is powered by the A17 Pro chip, designed primarily for enhanced gaming. With quicker loading times and high-quality rendering, the new iPhones promise a smoother and more stable gaming experience, even at lower resolutions. Four games were showcased for the iPhone 15 Pro: "The Division," "Honkai: Star Rail," "Genshin Impact," and "Resident Evil."
Wang Meng, the technical head of "Genshin Impact," spoke at the event, saying, "The A17 Pro chip allows us to create even more exciting content for this much-loved game." The GPU speed improvements and new features in the Metal 3 chip, such as metalFX upscaling technology, make the game faster and visually richer.

Ling Xiaoyu, Senior Director of Global Business Development at HoYoverse, also noted that the updated chip helps "Honkai: Star Rail" introduce new improvements, including higher refresh rates for smoother graphics, allowing players to immerse themselves in the game's dynamic worlds.
As a Shanghai-based tech company, HoYoverse is strongly invested in R&D, boasting a plethora of patents in cartoon rendering and motion capture technologies, among others. With each game update, they introduce new technologies and features. For example, the 4.0 version of "Genshin Impact" has introduced "Global Illumination" (GI), enhancing the game's lighting and shadow systems.
Global Illumination
Interestingly, this is not the first time Apple has used HoYoverse games as a benchmark for its hardware. Previously, Apple showcased "Genshin Impact" to demonstrate the robust performance of its M1 chip.
With the new A17 Pro chip's support, upcoming updates will bring features like 'Global Illumination' to mobile gamers. HoYoverse continues to blend technology with art to exceed player expectations consistently.
