This year's Steam Summer Sale is going great so far, and Dave the Diver is for sure one of the most popular games at this event. The game offers casual gameplay with a rich environment and beautiful graphics, which altogether brings players joy and comfort. However, little do we know, "Dave the Diver" has a real-life prototype.

Uncle Dave was a warm-hearted and enthusiastic pilot and diver. In 2004, when Uncle Dave accidentally dived to a depth of 271 meters in the Bushman Cave, he discovered the remains of an old explorer who drowned there ten years ago. This cave is the third deepest freshwater cave in the world, and the water pressure at this depth is undoubtedly deadly for humans. However, Dave made a resolute promise to the explorer's family that he would bring him up.

In 2005, Dave and his friends decided to recover the explorer's body using a relay method. The body was located at a depth of 271 meters in the cave, and they planned to relay at 220 meters and then at 150 meters before finally recovering the body. Dave told his friends, "If something happens to me, please don't rescue me."

Unfortunately, Dave did not always succeed in miraculously escaping from danger like in the game. He got entangled in the guide rope underwater. He took out scissors, but it was of no use. The deep water was pitch black, and his breathing became disordered. The rebreather also malfunctioned under the immense water pressure, ultimately engulfing his consciousness...

His friends noticed that Dave had not surfaced for a long time and wanted to go down to rescue him. However, the water pressure in the depths was unbearable. His friends saw a faint light in the depths that remained unchanged, and they understood that Dave had perished. It was impossible for him to bring him back from that depth, so they ultimately gave up.

The story did not end there. Three days later, when people were cleaning the guide rope, they found Dave's position at a depth of twenty meters, and to their astonishment, he was tightly entangled with another bag containing the remains of the deceased explorer. In the end, Dave fulfilled his promise with his life. And the Bushman Cave is also the prototype of the Blue Hole Cave in the game.

It's really unexpected that there is such a difficult journey behind a seemingly easy game.
