China Issues Explanation Regarding the Recommended Participants for the National Training Team in the 19th Asian Games Esports Event

According to the requirements and work arrangements of the General Administration of Sport of China, the General Administration of Sport of China Sport Information Center (hereinafter referred to as the Information Center) is responsible for the organization and participation in the esports events of the Hangzhou Asian Games. After research, it is proposed that each copyright owner or domestic agent (hereinafter referred to as the agent) shall undertake the recommendation of participants for the national training team of the esports events at the Hangzhou Asian Games, and submit the list to the Information Center within the prescribed time.

As a copyright owner or agent of esports events at the Hangzhou Asian Games such as League of Legends, Honor of Kings, Peacekeeper Elite, and FIFA Online 4, Tencent will strictly follow the requirements in the "Technical Manual for Esports Events at Hangzhou Asian Games", adhere to fair competition, merit-based selection, and give equal weight to ideology and political integrity as well as athletic ability. Tencent will strictly review and select candidates based on their age, educational background, political integrity, criminal record, compliance with sports event rules and regulations, and drug use history, among other basic information.

The overall process of recommending participants for the national training team in esports events at the Hangzhou Asian Games includes: coach interviews, candidate athlete centralized training, and drafting a recommended list for participants. All processes will undergo strict internal reviews before being submitted to relevant experts for comments within a certain scope. The list of candidate coaches and athletes will be reviewed by the Information Center and made public to society for feedback and monitoring.
