37Games established a new studio on September 7th, focusing on SLG game development.
The establishment of Xinghai Studio is no surprise. 37Games is already familiar with SLG games, thanks to its worldwide publication experience with multiple SLG game projects. For example, as one of 37Games’ most successful projects, Puzzles & Survival has created more than CNY 420 million in revenue.
The spokesman of 37Games shared that they plan to fully utilize the capability of Xinghai Studio and build a fundamental R&D workflow to further benefit its SLG development plan. In addition, 37Games also plans to make use of data analytics talents to help teams with research costs and management.
The newly-established Xinghai studio is facing a shortfall of new talent. He Yang, Senior Vice President of 37Games, has mentioned that SLG talents are scattered all over the country, and are hard to recruit. Lack of talent has been the number one challenge to Xinghai studio. Therefore, after careful consideration, he decided to establish the studio in Beijing, the capital and one of the largest and most advanced cities in China, in order to attract young talents.
