On September 5th, ConchShip Games, the developer of the Scroll of Taiwu, announces they will start a functional test on September 9th. They are recruiting players to help them as testers since they lack manpower.
The picture shared by the developer says, “the bugs are a little bit overwhelming, and we need you guys’ help.”
The functional test will be inclosed, and the players need to apply for it by finishing a survey. Besides some regular questions like the gameplay length or favorite games, the survey contains several funny questions. I.E., the developer will ask if the players remember their studio’s name, whether they can stand press the same button one thousand times, and if they can fix the CPU after it burnt.
A screenshot of one question in the survey asked whether the players can fix a burnt CPU.
The Scroll of Taiwu is an indie game based on Chinese mythology and Martial Hero tales which was released in early access in 2018. The game was a bestseller on Steam and a bellwether for a burgeoning Chinese indie game scene, though three armature developers developed it.
According to the announcement in April 2022, the game will end early access and be officially released on September 21st, 2022. Many players comment on social media that they are willing to be the tester and help the developer. And they can try the game before release as well.
