On August 17th, the reverse tower defense role-playing game "Affogato" was released on Steam. Developed by Befun Studio and published by Spiral Up Games, Affogato allows players to take on the role of the sorceress "Affogato" as they manage a café in Arorua. They will meet customers from all walks of life, listen to their stories, and venture into their minds to help them conquer their inner demons.

The “reverse tower defense” battle system in Affogato is incredibly innovative. During battles, players can summon a variety of units and strategize their routes to overcome enemy defenses. Summoning units requires a resource called "Penta," which can only be obtained by defeating specific enemies or attacking enemies with certain units. However, the amount of Penta that can be obtained in a single battle is limited. Additionally, the amount of Penta required for the next deployment significantly increases after one of the player’s units are defeated. This means that players cannot simply overwhelm the defense by spamming a large number of units like the enemies do in traditional tower defense games. Instead, they must cleverly manage their resources, plan optimal routes, neutralize enemy strengths, gradually weaken defenses, and use Penta to strengthen their own team.

As a story-driven role-playing game, Affogato features four main chapters that allow players to forge friendships with characters of diverse personalities, delve into their stories and secrets, and assist them in overcoming their inner struggles. Players can also explore four main locations in the eternal night city of Arorua, uncover and advance the plot, and encounter various individuals and events. To cater to player preferences, the game offers both Chinese and Japanese voiceovers.
One of the game's standout features is its coffee-making system. Players must master the operation of various coffee equipment and learn the techniques for making different types of coffee in order to serve the most suitable cup to customers. The coffee-making system is intricately detailed and provides an immersive experience, making players feel as though they could learn real-world coffee-making skills from the game. It is worth noting, however, that while the coffee-making gameplay in Affogato is well-developed and detailed, it is limited to making coffee for specific NPCs in the main and side storylines and is not an open-ended "coffee shop management" minigame.
