Following Nintendo’s announcement, Steam has recently warned Steam Deck owners about the possibility of the console overheating during high summer temperatures.
As the Steam Deck official Twitter account stated, “Steam Deck performs at its best in ambient temperatures between 0° and 35° C. If the temperature surpasses this, the Steam Deck may start to throttle performance to protect itself.”

In comparison, Nintendo also tweeted to warn Switch users of its products’ overheating tendencies during heat waves.

Be warned; overheating can not only degrade your console but even has the potential to cause harm in extreme cases. The best thing to do is to prevent using them in situations above 35° C.
