Nordcurrent Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Classic Cinemaware Titles
Nordcurrent, a leading mobile game developer, has broadened its horizon with the acquisition of Cinemaware's game portfolio from Starbreeze Entertainment. The purchase includes classic titles like "Defender of the Crown," "Wings," and "S.D.I.," marking a significant expansion into PC and console game offerings.
Victoria Trofimova, CEO of Nordcurrent, emphasized the acquisition's importance in enhancing their portfolio with renowned titles. She stated, "Since the inception of our PC games publishing division less than three years ago, we've been on a mission to build a robust business unit for PC and console games."
Cinemaware, known for its influential role in the gaming industry since its establishment in 1986, had its assets acquired by Starbreeze in 2016. This move by Nordcurrent, following its recent acquisition of River End Games, signals a strategic expansion into diverse gaming platforms, promising a revitalized future for these classic games.
