Ahead of the update, Bethesda has teased several enhancements on social media. Players can anticipate improved textures, lighting, and shadows, promising more natural character illumination, additional widescreen support, and overall stability enhancements. The update aims to address a range of issues, including fixes to quests, docking, and data transfer problems, as well as the resolution of exploration blockers like missing temples.
Notably, the update will tackle sun disk geometry and planet ring shadows, prevent reappearing objects after bulldozing in outposts, and rectify accessibility issues with ship hatches. It also promises to fix the humorous bug of asteroids tailing ships.
This upcoming patch marks the start of Bethesda's six-week update cycle for Starfield, a game that received mixed reviews at launch but has since seen gradual improvements. With further enhancements like new travel methods and official mod support through Bethesda's Creation Club on the horizon, 2024 looks to be a promising year for Starfield and its community.
