Independent game developer Games2see is currently working on a new deck-building roguelike game set in a cyberpunk world, titled 'Memory Detective: Akira.' As of this writing, an itch.io store page for Memory Detective: Akira is already live. The developer plans to launch an early access version in 2024 to test and further develop the game.

Set in the dystopian year of 2142, Memory Detective: Akira has players step into the shoes of the protagonist, Akira, who utilizes unique "memory tracking abilities" to undertake missions revolving around the destruction of the world.

According to a post by the developer on Reddit, the game will feature adventure elements reminiscent of narrative-driven games, complementing its strong story focus. Gameplay involves using a limited amount of energy each turn to play cards, balancing the cost of cards, energy capacity, and card effects to reduce the opponent's health to zero for victory.

Screenshots reveal a map similar to the one seen in "Slay the Spire," suggesting a card battle system that fans of the genre will likely appreciate.

Interested readers are encouraged to follow the developer's official X account for updates on the demo and early access release.
