Xiaomi officially announced that their new operating system, Xiaomi HyperOS, and the Xiaomi 14 series new product launch event will be held on October 26.

In a landmark announcement on October 17, Xiaomi's founder, Lei Jun, unveiled the company's ambitious new operating system, Xiaomi HyperOS. This revelation marks a pivotal step for Xiaomi in realizing its vision of a holistic ecosystem encompassing people, vehicles, and homes.

Lei Jun couldn't hide his exhilaration, expressing profound excitement about the launch. Reflecting on Xiaomi's journey, he reminisced about the birth of MIUI, Xiaomi's maiden software product, on August 16, 2010. Over the last 13 years, what began as a modest team of engineers has grown exponentially. MIUI, starting with a mere four basic functions, has transformed into a robust system with cross-terminal interconnections. Today, it boasts a staggering 1.175 billion users globally, underpinned by a software team of 4,000 to 5,000 professionals.

With its vast smart ecosystem spanning over 200 categories, Xiaomi is poised to complete the integration of its "people, cars, and homes" vision. ThePaper OS, Xiaomi's latest endeavor, has been years in the making. Preliminary development traces back to 2014, with formal R&D commencing in 2017, aiming to offer a unified system framework for all Xiaomi's ecological devices and applications.

Dubbed Xiaomi HyperOS, this new operating system represents a merger of a deeply evolved Android platform and Xiaomi's indigenous Vela system. The revamped architecture prepares the groundwork for a future, encompassing the Internet of Everything, capable of supporting billions of devices and connections. The inaugural device to feature ThePaper OS is the Xiaomi 14, promising users an unprecedented upgrade.
