Ponos, the developer of the popular free-to-play mobile game The Battle Cats, has announced an exciting collaboration event with the beloved anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. This special event is exclusively available for the smartphone version of The Battle Cats and has already begun in Japan on June 1, 2023, running until June 15, 2023. Fans of both The Battle Cats and Neon Genesis Evangelion will be thrilled to know that iconic characters from the anime will be featured as playable units in the game.
The Battle Cats x Evangelion Collaboration Event
To make the collaboration even more interesting, Ponos has also introduced cat versions of some of the well-known Evangelion characters. Players can look forward to using units such as Unit-01, Unit-13, Unit-02, and Unit-08, as well as various Angels and even a feline adaptation of the AAA Wunder, known as the "Neko Wunder."

The Battle Cats is a tower defense game where players take command of a battalion of cats with different abilities to protect their "cat base." Originally released in September 2014 for iOS and Android devices, the game has gained immense popularity. In December 2018, a Nintendo Switch version was launched in Japan, followed by a release in South East Asia in December 2021. Both versions are digital-only but offer language options in English, Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese.
The Battle Cats x Neon Genesis Evangelion collaboration event is now live in Japan and will be available until August 14, 2023.
