The debut of Kirby, the beloved video game character that we are all familiar with, was marked by the release of "Kirby's Dream Land" in 1992. Developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy, the game is known as "Hoshi no Kirby" in Japan. As the first game in the Kirby series, it established many of the conventions that would become staples in later games.
