The ceremony of Japan Game Awards: 2022 Games of the Year Division has dropped the curtain today at TGS 2022. All games published in Japan between April 1st 2021 and March 31th 2022 were qualified to compete for the awards. 1387 games were selected by public voting through internet and postcards.
Games of the Year Division awarded six categories and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Elden Ring separately won two awards each. For Game Designers Award, a special panel of eight expert judges, including Masahiro Sakurai, Kamiya Hideki, Kodaka Kazutaka, and five other people, decided the final winners.
