Valve has now revealed the complete list of nominees and their respective categories for the 2021 Steam Awards, where some extraordinary Chinese games have won a place.
The Steam Awards has specific categories such as 'Best Game You Suck At,' 'Sit Back and Relax,' and 'Labor of Love.' This year, Chinese games are competing in three categories.
Moncage, a unique puzzle adventure game gaining overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, has received a nomination for Most Innovative Gameplay. The game will also have an exhibition of its prototype in Gtopia: Gamesite in Shanghai.
Bright Memory: Infinite, created by FYQD-Studio has been nominated for Outstanding Visual Style.
Naraka: Bladepoint, an action-adventure battle royale of Chinese game giant NetEase, has also been nominated for 'Best Game You Suck At' this year. The game has just launched a series of collaborations with Bruce Lee, Shadow Warrior 3, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.
2021 has been a successful year for Chinese game developers. Valve has announced that the overseas sales of games developed by Chinese game studios have increased 300% in 2021. Chinese Games Dominated 2021's Google Play Store, while Genshin Impact won The Game Award for Best Mobile Game 2021 and received PlayStation Partner Awards and 2021 Grand Award.
Valheim, New World, Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village, and Forza Horizon 5 are competing for the Game of the Year, while the winner of TGA Game of the Year It takes Two has a 'Better with Friends' nomination.
