A court case revealed on Aug 18th trended on Chinese social media. The case was about a World of Tanks player who sued the gaming company because his account was banned for “no good reason”.
However, the developers and operators of the game argue that Cheng was exploiting bots and macros. For example, from March 15 to March 22, Cheng was playing PVP matches non-stop for 8 days without taking any break.
The Judge believed that physiologically speaking no human beings can achieve such a feat, and agreed Cheng was probably using a bot and violated the game’s EULA.
The verdict shows the player failed the lawsuit since they had no evidence to prove that it was them, instead of a gaming bot, playing the game for entire 8 days without stopping at all.
On social media, many commented that the game bot had ruined their game experience and they were glad to see the bot users be punished.
