A court verdict regarding a dispute between HoYoverse and three game companies, including 37Games, over copyright ownership and infringement, has recently been made public on Chinese social media.

According to the documents, the plaintiff HoYoverse claimed that the defendants had infringed its copyright by using the promotional image of the Knights of Favonius in HoYoverse’s mobile game Genshin Impact in their WeChat advertisement and introduction page without authorization. Additionally, HoYoverse claims the defendants attempted to mislead people into believing the mobile game Song of the City on Cloud - Legend of the Brave published by the defendants and Genshin Impact were related, which constituted unfair competition.

In the end, the court ruled that 37Games and the other two publishing companies must pay 30,000 RMB (4,300 USD) in damages to HoYoverse.
