HeartBeatPlus Studio, the developer of the Paper Bride series, has confirmed that Paper Bride II will be available on Steam tomorrow.

The game was delayed by two weeks due to a Steam content approval issue, and the release date was forced to push back from April 27 to May 6.

Paper Bride II is a puzzle-solving horror game with a very authentic Chinese folk art style, inheriting the core plot of HearBeatPlus’s last work. The game also allows the player to explore a mysterious haunted mountain village. The heroine, Tao, often dreams of the mountain village she moved away from when she was very young. She dreamed that she was tied to an old tree on a cliff outside the Village in a red paper wedding dress, with creepy nursery rhymes ringing in her ears and a group of puppet villagers surrounding her with torches.

Unable to bear the torture of the nightmares, Tao decides to return to the deserted village to uncover the secrets of her dreams. Similar to the gameplay of Paper Bride I, the game contains a lot of horrific Chinese opera, folklore paintings, and funeral culture-related content. Players need to find as much evidence as possible in the horror scenes carefully made by the developer to push the story.

Developers said the game has passed the previously failed content approval and will be released tomorrow. The game price is still not shown on the Steam store page. It is worth noting that HeartBeatPlus Studio has been developing Paper Bride as a mobile game previously, and this is the first attempt of the Paper Bride series to publish on Steam. HeartBeatPlus Studio also designed a Steam-exclusive achievement system for a better gaming experience and will distribute the artbook and original soundtrack as free DLC when the game is released.
