The game launched Early Access two days ago. It is developed by Shiro Games and published by Funcom and Shiro Games.
The two companies both have ties with Tencent. In January 2020, Tencent acquired Funcom. Because of this relationship, Dune: Spice Wars also appeared on the website of Level Infinite, the global publishing division of Tencent.
Meanwhile, the developer Shiro Games, well-known for its Northgard, also has a cooperation with Tencent in Cloud services.
Game graphics of Dune: Spice Wars
Dune: Spice Wars has 4X elements, meaning Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate, and was set in a groundbreaking Dune universe, where Spice is the most valuable resource. The player must lead their faction and battle for control and dominance over Dune and the spice.
Despite an 83% positive rating, there are also some negative comments on Steam. Some players said because the content is not enough, the process of playing the game sometimes made them feel boring, and the tempo of the game is too slow.
