Today's Nintendo Direct event unveiled a wealth of details about the highly-anticipated game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, set to launch on October 20. The game adds a fresh layer to the iconic Mario formula, introducing new characters, power-ups, and gameplay mechanics.
Here's the full content:
The playable character roster has expanded significantly, featuring not only Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy but also a range of Toads, Toadette, Yoshis, and a character named Nabbit. Some characters have special abilities, like Yoshis and Nabbit, who are impervious to damage but can still fall into pits.
Nintendo showcased new power-ups, most notably the elephant transformation, as well as the Bubble Form and Drill Form. The Bubble Form lets you encase enemies in bubbles, which can also serve as floating platforms. The Drill Form provides a drill helmet that allows players to burrow into ceilings and floors.

One groundbreaking feature is the "Wonder Effect," triggered by the new Wonder Flower power-up. This effect can completely transform a level, adding everything from 3D camera perspectives to animated environments, creating replayability within the game.
Cooperative play takes center stage, available both locally and online. Online features include running alongside "shadow" versions of other players, offering opportunities for collaboration like reviving each other in levels.
The Direct also addressed the departure of Charles Martinet, Mario's long-time voice actor, confirming he won't voice Mario in Wonder but will continue as a "Mario Ambassador." The 15-minute presentation was packed with info, amplifying excitement for what appears to be a game-changer in the Mario series.
