Just now, Mandate Eternal, a grand strategy role-playing game based on the history of the Ming dynasty that ruled China, has created its store page and posted some detailed information on Steam.
Mandate Eternal starts with the Tumu crisis in 1449 when the Ming dynasty was defeated by the Mongol Northern Yuan and the emperor Yingzong was captured. As the new emperor, the player must try their best to save the Ming dynasty’s economy and military from this fiasco, and rule this falling empire for eternity. The game has well-designed political and economic systems that allow players to experience the real Ming dynasty and modify it as their wish. You must keep an eye on the power struggle within the court while raising the country's economy to avoid betraying and mutinies. The game loads can be continued until the late 18th century, so the game is likely to have an inheritance system like Paradox’s Crusader Kings.
Inspired by the Total War series and strategy games from Paradox Interactive, Mandate Eternal also added real-time strategy gameplay into the overall grand strategy mechanism, the game perfectly recreated the Ming army, including details of the armors, and weapons officer ranks and formation. Players can play as the armies of the Ming dynasty themselves to beat the enemies from surrounding countries.
Mandate Eternal will launch its early access soon and be officially available in March 2023. As of now, the price remains unknown.
