On April 5th, Ubisoft officially revealed the long-rumored mobile version of Rainbow Six Siege with a game trailer on Twitter.

Although the new game will be named Rainbow Six Mobile, dropping Siege from the name, the trailer shows a mobile version of Siege with the same 5V5 round-based tactical shooting elements.
Ubisoft revealed the iconic Bank map and ten playable operators in Rainbow Six Mobile’s trailer, all taken from Rainbow Six Siege. The first ten operators are all key, special ones with high selection rates in Siege. They are divided equally into five attackers and five defenders. Ubisoft has also provided them with new modeling and artwork.
Speaking of maps, the bank map in the trailer is one of the three most classic maps in Siege, and Ubisoft had remade it in 2020 to ensure higher competitiveness, while the one in the mobile is the original one without any modifications. The Border map in Siege will also be in Rainbow Six Mobile after the full release of the game.
From some trailer details, we can see that the map and operators’ unique abilities and guns have undergone some mobile-friendly play adjustments. For example, the half-auto AR15 in Siege has been modified to a full-auto M16 in order to reduce the inconvenience of continuous tapping on the phone screen. Ash’s M120 CREM portable breaching weapon has turned into an under-barrel rifle grenade, like Buck’s Masterkey shotgun. The attacking operator Hibana’s primary weapon seems to have changed as well. In general, the abilities of the ten playable operators are not largely changed, and the game experience should be the same as Siege, tense, exciting and requiring cooperation.
Rainbow Six Mobile has now gone through three years of development, and Ubisoft has not provided very detailed information about the release date. But according to the content of the current trailer and developer logs Ubisoft posted on the official website of Rainbow Six Mobile, Rainbow Six Mobile will likely be fully released before the end of 2022. Currently, developers say IOS/Android beta tests are open worldwide, and players can register by click here.
