On April 8, Koei Tecmo Games held a concert to commemorate the 40th anniversary of General Producer Kou Shibusawa, also known as Yoichi Erikawa.
The composers and the singers
The very first Kawanakajima no Kassen was released in 1981. Originally planned to be held in 2022, the concert was postponed due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and was finally held on April 8, 2023, after reorganizing the event.
Interestingly, this year also marks the 40th anniversary of his representative work, the Nobunaga's Ambition series, making it a celebratory concert.
Some original gems displayed
It is a well-known fact among fans of Koei Tecmo Games that its predecessor, Koei, was a game maker that placed great importance on game music. Although the first Nobunaga's Ambition game was composed of only beep sounds, the sequel, Nobunaga's Ambition: Zenkokuban, employed Yoko Kanno, who was still an unknown college student at the time. With her unique and overwhelming expression, she presented a rich Sengoku romance in a world of pixel art and beep sounds, leaving a new page in the history of world gaming.
