Fire Giant is one of the many tough boss fights in Elden Ring. With a wide attack range and high damage, this boss is a headache for many players. A content creator on Bilibili even goes as far as calling the Fire giant “the worst boss design in Elden Ring”. This bold claim gave him quite some viewership, but also attracted some humiliation that he probably didn’t see coming.
“The Giant punched me and threw me into the air after I made a damaging action.” the creator said in his video. It is obvious that in the video he was struggling to come up with a good strategy to defeat the boss.
Not long after he posted the video, a commenter said, “Fire giant is so easy you can just chase him and attack his heels.”
This comment surely triggered the creator ChuXXia, as he replied angrily only five minutes later, “Yes, you are the type of Master Player that I always talk about.”, mocking the commenter being one of those keyboard warrior/back seat drivers.
What the creator didn’t expect was that the commenter, Zhuabuduo Dele, is indeed a very skillful player, and uploaded a video of him defeating the Fire Giant without taking any damage, on new game +4 difficulty, meaning that besides slaying the Fire Giant without any issues, he had already beat the game three times.
Now the tables have turned. This Uno-Reverse moment has been latched onto by more fans, and they left funny bullet comments to show they were amused, and that they were clearly this hidden master.
Fans also left comments under the original video about the difficulty of Fire Giant and said “Oh, Yes, Yes, Yes”, forming a long queue to mock on ChuXXia.
And the challenger Zhabuduo Dele replied with links of his easy kill video to a lot of fans, bringing the argument to a more sizzling level.
This was not the end of it. Several days later, another player also joined the fuss. To add salt to the injury, he said that he couldn’t understand why ChuXXia suffered so much pain against such an easy boss. “Maybe ChuXXia was just riding on the wave to play Elden Ring.”, he said. Since fire giant was indeed a tough boss, he attracted more comments requesting him to show his gameplay.
And this player, Yiji, was clearly prepared. He posted a video titled “Elden Ring from Two-Week Play, Fire Giant with No Damage on the Player”, and replied to other fans with the link to the video, one by one.
Of course, not everyone can be as good at Elden Ring as Zhabu and Yiji, but this hilarious banter reminds us again of a popular proverb on the internet: “Do not get angry and show your real strength, otherwise people will know that you are actually weak.”
