Genshin Impact's new event Of Drink A-Dreaming has officially launched. Travelers can now learn some bartending skills in the game and serve their guests with shots of good-tasting drinks.

The new event is located in the famous tavern Angel’s Share in Mondstadt. Mondstadt is a large city of wine and song that owns a well-developed brewing industry and many taverns. Its popular local specialty, dandelion wine, was even imported to Mondstadt’s neighboring country Liyue. So before you experience this interesting event yourself, here are some interesting facts about Genshin Impacts’ characters and wine. It turns out many of the key characters in Mondstadt aren’t that fond of alcohol, adding a bit of irony to the lives they lead.

1. Diluc is a winery owner that doesn’t drink

Born into the affluent Ragnvindr Clan, Diluc is the current owner of the Dawn Winery and a nobleman held in high esteem within Mondstadt society. While a past incident caused him to split ways with the Knights of Favonius, he continues to protect Mondstadt in his own way. Despite being the owner of a famous vineyard and Angel’s Share tavern, Diluc despises alcohol. He claims that he dislikes the dizzy feeling of drinking too much alcohol, preventing him from working effectively.  As a result, Angel's Share has developed several non-alcoholic beverages, including Apple Cider, which sells nearly as much as dandelion wine every month.

2. Angel’s Share

As the venue of the event and the most famous tavern in Mondstadt, Angel’s Share is a must-visit place for drinkers, and there is another meaning behind the name.

The Angels' share is the romantic term for the annual rate of whisky lost during cask maturation due to evaporation. As the liquid would evaporate into the heavens, it was dubbed the angels' share.

3. Kaeya

Kaeya is Diluc’s younger brother. As the Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius, Kaeya is said to be found in taverns more than he is at the headquarters of the Knights of Favonius.

Kaeya’s favorite drink is the strong Death in the Afternoon, and he often drinks while chatting casually with other people in the tavern. Whether it is a suspicious outsider or a vicious bandit, they always seem to confess their little secrets to him, which may be the reason why the security of Mondstadt is so good.

 4. Venti

As the god that used to lead the city of Mondstadt, Venti is obsessed with the dandelion wine in local taverns. Due to residing in a vessel manifested through his Archon powers, Venti has a large amount of alcohol tolerance; he can drink at least 37 glasses of wine to no ill effect. Traveling as a bard, Venti is now facing new troubles: he is always treated as a minor because of his appearance, so few taverns are willing to sell him wine.

5. Diona, the wine industry slayer

Diona is a bartender at the new tavern in Mondstadt called Cat’s Tail. She has a unique ability that causes the drinks she mixes to be extra flavorful. But similar to Diluc, bartending is not her hobby or passion. Diona actually has a considerable distaste for alcohol and has always wanted to destroy the brewing industry of Mondstadt.
