Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics announced that a new Tomb Raider series would be developed by Crystal Dynamics and released globally by Amazon Games.

Crystal Dynamics is a developer based in San Mateo, California. After the success of Tomb Raider: Legend in 2006, they went on to develop a number of games before being acquired by Square Enix in 2009. In 2022, Square Enix sold its overseas studios, including Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Interactive, to Sweden's Embracer Group.
The new reboot will remain a single-player series featuring Lara Croft and will be released on multiple platforms using Unreal Engine 5.
