Japanese Newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun reported that, on August 31, the Osaka District Court issued an enforcement order in a case of defamation of Virtual YouTuber on the Internet. The court required the social media platform to provide the defendant's personal information for a subsequent claim.
According to reports, the plaintiff, a female virtual idol VTuber with more than 1 million followers on Twitter, is suing an anonymous account for abusing her on social media, saying that she is a stupid and childish woman because she doesn't have a mother.
As of now, the company that runs social media refused to provide information in response to the court, arguing that the user's comments were about the virtual avatar and not the woman that controls the avatar in real life.
