On August 26th, a teaser of “Project G” was revealed on YouTube. According to Go Nagai, the creator of the popular Super Robot Anime Mazinger Z series, “Project G” will be a new project for the UFO Robot Grendizer, and it will be completely unveiled in 2023.
UFO Robot Grendizer, also known as Goldorak or Goldrake in some regions, is a super robot anime first released in 1975 in Japan. The anime has 74 episodes, and the story is about Duke Fleed, a survivor of an alien royal family, protecting the earth from the alien invader who destroyed his home world.
The anime saw great success in many countries, including France, Italy, and the Arab-speaking world. A commonly spread rumor is that some episodes of the anime reached a 100% view rate in France.

However, Mazinger Z is far more popular than Grendizer in Japan. The new title Mazinger Z: Infinity made the story of Grendizer non-canon in the Mazinger series. There had been no new Grendizer projects for decades, leaving many enthusiasts to wonder if Grendizer was forgotten by its original creators.

On the official website, “Project G” uses the tagline, “The new legend of Grendizer begins now.” Additionally, Go Nagai has promised to gather the “best members in Japan” for this project.
