A "New Kabuki Final Fantasy X" performance commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series is scheduled to debut at the IHI Stage Around Tokyo in Toyosu, Tokyo, in the spring of 2023.
Although various science fiction movies and animations have been adapted to Kabuki plays in the past, this is probably the first Kabuki to be based on a video game.
The cast will include Onoe Kikunosuke, Nakamura Shidō, Onoe Matsuya, and Bando Yajuro, as well as a star-studded cast of non-Kabuki actors.
